The Dominos Pizza Franchise is on track to deliver its heralded turnaround, with trading this year exceeding expectations. Domino's expects to add 60 stores to its network this year.

Growth was expected to continue with new store openings, same store sales increases and innovation through new technology, menu items and advertising. The European business, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, is already profitable and performing exceptionally well.

One hurdle the company faces in Australia and New Zealand is rising prices for ingredients, which could squeeze its margins. 

Like most corporate success stories, Dominos started out small, with just one store in 1960. However, in 1978 the 200th Dominos store opened, and things really began to cook. By 1983 there were 1,000 Dominos stores, and 5,000 in 1989. Today, there are more than 8,000 stores, including more than 3,000 outside the United States. Sure, it took more than 45 years to get here, but the trip was well worth it.
